Paper piecing

what would I have done without a little wooden iron and add-a-quarter ruler  - these 2 fantastic tools are perfect for paper piecing .I loved using them to make  the New York beauty blocks and they're a great  addition  to my  ever growing tool box.

Ive signed up for this course with May-Gene Terblanche. Its  the first time trying this method - foundation/paper piecing. The first lesson went off well, with a few mumbles and unpicking, eventually got the hang of it. So far have made these arcs and 21 more to go.    

We get to use up all our scraps  - no rules to fabric selection , nothing must match. Apparently the more the fabrics clash the better the quilt will look in the end.

Ive always wanted one and lately its getting too uncomfortable crawling around on the floor.So, I knew the 3 sheets of polystyrene I kept 2 years ago would come in handy one day. I slip covered them with flannel...
