practicing

and practicing, freemotion stitching. I've been practicing the quilting design on the pullout pattern sheet in this magazine.

Phew.... I think I'll just give up ( for now ) time for a cup of tea instead. Free motion quilting is not easy!

PS: Hi, to my newest follower's Pat, Jackie and Gene.

  1. I always find it easiest to put on so smoothing music to help me from becoming so tense. A cup of tea sounds perfect!!!!!

  2. Oh my goodness! You are doing a GREAT job. I find a glass of wine helps--and oddly having a movie on the telly helps slow me down.

  5. Hai Fleurette! This comment comes from Holland!
Free motion quilting isn't easy, I love it so much. My slogan is: You have to do 3 things. 1 Take a glass of liquor. 2 Do make a prayer. 3 Go!

  6. Reading the comments above gave me a great laugh! I had no idea so many people "indulged" while free motion quilting! It's great advice, though! The reality is that you HAVE to relax. Whether it's a glass of wine, your favorite movie or music, comfortable chair and posture- whatever- you have to be in the right frame of mind. And you'll never fully relax until you've had a lot of practice. Just keep at it- you are doing GREAT! My first attempts were not that good- trust me!
