Finally......

At last top is finally done, now I can shop for backing fabric, batting and thread. I'm thinking of using a varigated thread but not sure if it will look too busy. These blocks are paper pieced so I have the whole of the back to remove, tiny pieces. I  will have to use a tweezer for those hard to get bits, not looking forward to that part but yaay, I'm nearly finished. Still have to neaten the edges, could'nt wait to pin it on my design wall and show it with the black sashing, I had to use the sashing because I decided to add  the sawtooth border.

  1. I am doing my first paper pieced quilt and was told to sit on a sheet when it's time to remove the paper. Easy to gather up the sheet and toss the paper in the bin..

the quilt is beautiful and i love the border...

  10. A friend - from SA - sent me the link to your blog - glad she did! :) Wow! You have finished a NYB top! I love the colors you've used and the border is just so great! I made my first two NYB blocks this week. I've done paper piecing earlier, but not the curves - a challenge, and be able to learn something new. I think I'm going to make a NYB bed cover! :)
    Have a nice day!
